Data Deletion Breakdown

What We Permanently Delete
  • Your sign-in: Email address, hashed password, and Google or Apple provider links.
  • Your profile: Email, display name, and onboarding flags on Supabase.
  • Apple Sign-In Token: We ask Apple to revoke the token granted to HomeDNA.
  • Server-side data: Any announcements or account rows tied to the user ID.
What Stays (Local to You)
  • Device records: Data on your phone stays unless you check “Also erase my home data” or delete the app. We have no remote access to erase your physical phone.
  • Exported backups: Files saved to iCloud, Google Drive, or email stay until you delete them there. We never received them.
  • Passphrases: Passphrases are never transmitted to us; any encrypted backup remains readable only with your passphrase.

Deleting your HomeDNA account does NOT delete your underlying Google Account or Apple ID.
